Mid-Year Report

Hi, there! Hope you’re doing well. Can you believe half of 2016 is already gone???

At the beginning of the year, I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish this year. I wanted to take a look back on what I had my sights on at the beginning of the year and see what I’ve been able to knock out…

WHAT I’VE ACCOMPLISHED

1. CAREER MOVE

I knew that I would be done with college in the Spring…so that meant it was really time for me to start working toward what I wanted to do with my “career”. That was weird for me to think about. I grew up in a trailer park…you don’t really see a whole lot of people from there go on to have “careers”. I only hoped that someday I’d have a “good paying job” so I wouldn’t have to live with my parents forever!

About a month away from graduating, I got the call. In about a 5 min conversation…my decision was made. I’d be moving to Nashville, TN to work for the Bobby Bones Show. From there…everything happened so fast! Even though the thought made me incredibly anxious…it was still the best decision I’ve made all year.

2. GRADUATED COLLEGE

YES! It only took me 6 years…but that’s OK, right?! It wasn’t because I was a slacker and failed classes. I actually had enough credits for 2 degrees! My problem was I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do. I wish I had been one of those kids who knew exactly that job they were going to go for right out of High School. But eventually I realized…IT DOESN’T MATTER! Just get it done! College isn’t so much about getting a degree that guarantees you a job. It’s about learning about yourself, how to work with others/network and developing a work ethic.

Finally! #TXST

3. STAYING HEALTHY

This year marked a year that I was able to keep of the 100 pounds I lost. I’ve spent the last year getting to where I feel comfortable in my new skin. I guess my biggest fear has been gaining all the weight back. I did make it a point to stop checking the scale so often. I didn’t want to constantly obsess over a number. I’ve changed everything about the way I eat, drink and exercise…now I’m just trying to enjoy it!
