Mike D is the head writer of The Bobby Bones Show and executive producer of The BobbyCast and Nashville Podcast Network. Mike D is known for sharing his story of losing over 100 pounds through hard work, diet and exercise. He is also known as Bobby’s right hand man behind the scenes and as the show’s resident movie guy.
Mike D served as the opening comedy act on The Bobby Bones Red Hoodie Comedy Tour. He
traveled around the country with performing standup which shared stories about his
life and weight loss. Mike D is also comedy writer and wrote comedy songs such as ”Chick-Fil-A…but it’s Sunday” and “Hobby Lobby Bobby” for Bobby Bones and The Raging Idiots.
Mike D launched “Movie Mike’s Movie Podcast” in December 2019. The podcast has now over 1 million downloads. Mike has interviews actors and directors from Sean Astin, Michael Peña, Chris Columbus (Harry Potter), Christy Carlson Romano and more. He offers spoiler-free movie reviews of all the latest releases and engages listeners with film history, list rankings and movie nostalgia.
With a loyal social media following across multiple platforms, Mike D connects with his listeners during and long after the show is over. He is known for posting movie reviews on his Instagram and TikTok. Also does “Movie Minute” video to talk about the latest movie news.
Mike is also the head of operations for the Nashville Podcast Network and the writer for Women of iHeartCountry hosted by Amy Brown.

Fun Facts:
-Born in Waxahachie, TX. He grew up in a trailer park and didn’t have his own room until he moved out from Waxahachie to Austin, TX to go to college.
-Both of his parents were born in Guanajuato, Mexico. But he hasn’t been back to Mexico in over 15 years.
-He spent a month living in Costa Rica in 2021 working producing the radio show.
-He met Bobby Bones in 2010 after messaging him on MySpace for advice on starting a podcast. Bobby invited him to come sit in and observe the radio show. Mike then became an intern for the Bobby Bones Show in Austin, TX which lead to a job as a board operator before making the move to Nashville in 2016.
-His favorite movies are The Dark Knight, No Country For Old Men, Spider-Man and Her.
-He got married in June 2021. His wife was his first ever girlfriend and real relationship.
-In addition to radio and podcasting, Mike also still writes comedy.
-His bucket list item is to be an extra in a Marvel Movie.
-His favorite artists right now are Phoebe Bridgers and Kanye West
-He has been vegan since 2017.
-He runs an average of 25 miles a week.
Mental health:
–Mike struggled with his weight and health journey his entire life. He decided it was time to make a change in 2013 after getting to meet his idol Adam Carolla and take a picture with him. He didn’t recognize the person he had become due to his weight reaching right around 300lbs.
-From 2013 to 2014 he was able to lose 100 pounds by changing his diet and exercising. He has kept it off since and still makes it a priority every day to maintain that same mentality.
-Mike has shared his story with listeners to show them how he went from not even be able to walk a mile to running his first marathon in 2017 in Nashville.
-Mike made his first post on mental health in Nov of 2021 and opened up about his struggles with anxiety and depression.
-He has dealt with it since he was a teenager and recently found help after encouragement from his wife.
-His favorite way to combat anxiety is going for runs which aide to clear the mind and help him find a sense of peace.
